Typically this occurs when you try to compile using -x switch on the system that doesn't support specified instruction set (f.i. -xSSE3 in Pentium 4). What was exact system configuration and switches used (I believe they are both available in config.log ).

Subject: [Wrf-users] NETCDF Installation error

Dear All,
I just installed both ifort and icc but in the installation of NETCDF I got this:

Fatal Error: This program was not built to run on the processor in your system.
The allowed processors are: Intel(R) Core(TM) Duo processors and compatible Intel processors with supplemental Streaming SIMD Extensions 3 (SSSE3) instruction support.

configure:5275: $? = 1
configure:5282: error: in `/home/hamed/netcdf-4.1.1':
configure:5286: error: cannot run C compiled programs.
If you meant to cross compile, use `--host'.

Any Idea?
Thanks in advance,
Hamed Sharifi,
