The NSF REU Site at the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF), the
Geophysical Institute (GI), supports six undergraduate students to

In this summer session, the following research themes will be considered
for which two teams of three REU students will be formed:

layer clouds during VOCALS-REx (team adviser: Res. Assoc. Prof. Dr.
Javier Fochesatto), and

Theoretical and numerical investigations of strongly stable conditions
over Interior Alaska during wintertime (team advisers: Prof. Dr. Dr.
habil. Nicole Mölders and Res. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gerhard Kramm)

Undergraduates with skills in atmospheric sciences, physics, mathematics
(calculus, linear algebra, and statistics) and related natural science
fields are preferred.

The NSF REU site program will provide for each student a stipend of $
5,000.00, a housing allowance of up to $ 1,000.00, and a traveling
