[Wrf-users] Cycling and WRF-VAR (3D, FGAT or 4D)?

Hello,

I'm going to do cycling run (warm-start) of WRF-ARW every 6-hour (00, 06, 12 and 18Z). In this scheme current run of model is starting from 6h forecast of previous run. I think that I need to use WRF-VAR system also, but in doubt which method of assimilation I need. I've got only SYNOP observations with 3h resolution (00, 03, 06Z, and so on...) Could you please advise me, which data assimilation method is more appropriate in my case?
