We are seeking a Manager, Agricultural Weather Services who will be responsible for providing leadership and operational direction to the Agricultural Products business area. This position requires a highly-motivated individual who can work in a fast-paced, real-time, client-driven environment.


Candidate must have crop forecasting experience, preferably in the US and South America.  Required work hours are 4:00am - 1:00pm; please do not apply if you are unable to work these hours.

Job Functions

    * Responsible for the creation and supervision of various short- and long-term agricultural forecast and analysis products for weather and crop production in areas throughout the world
    * Provide telephone consultation and seminar presentations to CROPCAST clients
    * Provide customer service to solve client issues
    * Facilitate revenue and profit growth
    * Manage staff to ensure operational excellence in all products and services created by the business area including the timely, reliable and accurate delivery of all weather products
    * Carry out supervisory responsibilities for 5+ staff in including training employees, appraising performance and  planning, assigning and directing work
    * Provide highly credible consultations for clients
    * Network with clients, potential customers, teaming partners, consultants, and leaders in the weather community to facilitate new business and product development and improve existing products and ensure client retention
    * Respond promptly to customer and staff needs including requests for service and assistance
    * Work to continually improve operational efficiencies, processes, products and services
    * Study and interpret synoptic reports, maps, photographs, and prognostic charts to predict long and short range weather conditions
    * Operate computer graphic equipment to produce weather reports and maps for analysis and distribution to clients

Required Qualifications

    * Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to all levels of staff and clients and respond to common inquiries or complaints
    * Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Meteorology or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
    * Knowledge of world crops, regions and growth cycles
    * Minimum of 3 years weather forecasting experience with an emphasis on agriculture
    * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet client-driven deadlines
    * Experience cultivating new business opportunities
    * Ability to leverage creative thinking and innovative ideas to meet client needs and develop new products
    * Ability to exhibit balanced emotions, strong interpersonal skills and a professional appearance and demeanor at all times while managing competing demands
    * Ability to use time efficiently to prioritize and plan work activities, set goals and objectives and organize schedules and tasks for staff
    * Ability to balance team and individual responsibilities and contribute to building a positive team spirit
    * Ability to spend up to 10% of time on business travel
    * Ability to demonstrate group presentation skills including public speaking
    * U.S Citizenship is required
    * Eligiblity for U.S. Security Clearance is required
