2 Post Doctoral Position in Regional Atmospheric Modelling
 
The atmospheric modelling group of the Waterloo Centre for Atmospheric
Sciences (WCAS) has two new positions at the Post Doctoral Level to
begin in August 2005.  The WCAS modelling group is a collaborative
research centre that works on the development and implementation of
regional chemical transport models of atmospheric processes in North
America, with special emphasis on the atmosphere of Southern Ontario.
The new positions will be in the area of real time emissions development
and data assimilation for application to air quality forecasting.  We
also carry out an extensive program of long range transport studies with
a focus on ozone, mercury and semi-volatile organics and the new
appointees will have the opportunity to collaborate with these existing
projects.
 
Our regional modelling group consists of 16 personnel at the graduate
and post doctoral levels.  In addition to PDF level scientific
personnel, the group includes a meteorologist and a computer systems
specialist.  It has access to good computational resources, through the
Waterloo Centre for Atmospheric Sciences.  Our major modelling tools are
the MM5 and WRF meteorology models and the Models-3/CMAQ CTM system.
Applicants with previous experience in regional atmospheric modelling
and data assimilation procedures will be given preference.  Further

The WCAS is located at the University of Waterloo

region.
