Hi All,

We hope that you will join us for a discussion on the indirect cost rate calculations that are currently employed across our organization.

Date: Tuesday, June 10th
Time: 10:30am - noon.
Location: Mesa Lab Main Seminar Room.

There have been large recent fluctuations in the UCAR and NCAR indirect cost rates. They have gone up, and are now going down again. In this discussion, the heads of budget and planning for NCAR (Rena Brasher-Alleva) and UCAR (Justin Young) will go over how the indirect rates are set, and what expenses are defined in the rates. They will also answer questions. All interested NCAR scientists are invited to attend, especially those that write proposals and are affected by the rates.

The NCAR Scientists Assembly (NSA) Executive Committee (EC) is working to provide lines of communication with NCAR scientists affected by the changing rates. This information exchange session is an important step in that process.

if you can’t attend and would like to ask a question then please respond to this email and we will make sure your point is raised in discussion.

Cheers,

Scott McIntosh & Andrew Gettelman
[NSA Co-Chairs]
