[ncl-talk] problem using RANGS database

Hi,

By default, NCL looks for this in $NCARG_ROOT/lib/ncarg/database/rangs,
which is not necessarily the same as "/lib/ncarg/database/rangs"
You might check to see what the value of $NCARG_ROOT is, if any. One can
always override the default location by setting the NCARG_RANGS environment
variable. In your case:

export NCARG_RANGS=/lib/ncarg/database/rangs

There's a FAQ on this for further information
