Hi Marston,

Alan already gave the correct answer:

    https://www.ncl.ucar.edu/Document/Graphics/function_code.shtml#CoordDefinition

    ​~H-1Q~ will move the cursor backwards 1 space
    so "~F8~D~N~T~B~B~N~~S~~H-1Q~A~N~ [K]" will do what you want.

    You can combine the character codes but I'm not sure if that makes
    things clearer so won't bother here.
