Hi all,

Over the years we've had lots of general questions about how to plot data
over a map using NCL.

It's easy to get confused about when you have "coordinate arrays" and when
you need to use "lat2d" and "lon2d", or when you need to do something else
entirely (like with random data).

We have a new page that hopefully explains this topic better:

http://www.ncl.ucar.edu/Applications/plot_data_on_map.shtml

All of these examples have the data files available, so you can run any one
of them.

If you think something is missing from this page, don't hesitate to let me
know.
