[ncl-talk] Changing variable names in NetCDF values

[BLIUJUS, STEVEN D GS-07 USAF ACC 16 WS/WXE]

I am trying to rename a variable in a NetCDF file. For example, I have a float AOT variable, how would I change the name so it became a float AOD?

I know how to change the names of dimensions, but I cannot find anywhere that describes how to change the variable itself.
