Hi,
NCL has many summation function such as sum(), dim_sum(), dim_sum_n()…
Why don’t you read reference pages(http://www.ncl.ucar.edu/Document/Functions/math.shtml)?
These pages give detailed information about various functions.
Probably, you can find what you want in those pages.

Dear all
I want to compute sum of precipitation over t=1 to t=1825.
in other world precipitation has 3 dimension (time,rlat,rlon).
could you tell me, what function do I use to find sum of precipitation at NCL?
