Hi,

I attempted to install NCL today on a new Windows 10 computer by carefully
following your instructions at:

http://www.ncl.ucar.edu/Download/windows_linux_subsystem.shtml

I chose to install Ubuntu per the recommendation of the PC World article
that you cited:

https://www.pcworld.com/article/3055403/windows/windows-10s-bash-shell-can-r
un-graphical-linux-applications-with-this-trick.htm

I chose not to install Xming, I chose to install
ncl_ncarg-6.4.0-Debian7.11_64bit_gnu472.tar.gz, and used vim to edit my
.profile file.

During the installation I received "Unable to locate package" errors for the
csh and libssh2-1 packages.

In response to the ncl -V installation test I received the error:

"ncl: error while loading shared libraries: librtmp.so.0: cannot open shared
object file: No such file or directory"

Then when I followed the troubleshooting recommendation to install the
offending package I received the error message:

"E: Unable to locate package librtmp.so.0"

The attached file is copied directly from my Linux terminal window and
contains the specific commands I issued along with the specific error
responses.

Please let me know how I can remedy the above problems and install NCL.

Thanks.

Jim
