Hi Edward,

How did you install NCL in Bash on your machine? Based on it being NCL version 6.1.2, it seems like you might have used “sudo apt-get install ncl-ncarg” (6.1.2 the newest version of NCL available on Ubuntu 14.04, which is what Windows 10 Bash uses).

You may want to try using NCL 6.4.0 from our website: https://www.ncl.ucar.edu/Download/windows_linux_subsystem.shtml#DownloadNCL <https://www.ncl.ucar.edu/Download/windows_linux_subsystem.shtml#DownloadNCL>

This version is significantly newer, and it shouldn’t have any of the “$NCARG_ROOT” or “lib/ncarg” related errors once configured. However, getting it installed in Windows 10 Bash can be tricky, so please let me know if you have any further questions.

Thanks,
Kevin
