Voices*, aims to provide a national platform to highlight the individual
experiences and perspectives of postdoctoral scholars with a focus on
amplifying the voices of individuals from groups underrepresented in our
community. Community building is important for personal and professional
development, and we hope that *Amplifying Voices* is one step toward
increasing community among postdocs by providing a forum where postdocs can

career coach. She tries to put herself in her postdocs’ shoes when
mentoring them, asking herself what she would do if she were them. As

and weaknesses, the important thing is for each postdoc to set goals for

The last several NPA Annual Meetings have provided a wonderful platform to
network, learn best practices, discover innovative programming, and meet
key opinion leaders in the postdoctoral community. While leaders of
individual Boston-area PDAs had been meeting as members of the BPDA council
since its founding, the NPA Annual Meeting provided a unique opportunity
for Boston area postdoctoral leaders to strengthen their professional
relationships, form collaborations with leaders of other Boston area PDAs
and learn from the many postdoctoral officers who attended the Annual
