Dear PostDoc Association Member,

The Denver March for Science is seeking volunteers, planners, organizers,
sponsors, speakers, musical performers, and teach-in demonstrators. We
need your help and feedback if you want this event to happen again.

We are planning to host an event in Civic Center Park on April 14, 2018,
but we want to know if we have support for another march (this is where you
and fundraising efforts will help). We are trying to decide in the next
couple of days if we can pull off a great event. We are reaching out to
ask for your help by volunteering again and by letting your organization's
members know about upcoming opportunities.

*Theme: *The theme for this year’s march is “i^4 - making the imaginary
positively real - innovate, include, invest, and inspire.”

*Volunteer Opportunities: *We are looking for planners, organizers,
communications experts and fund raisers to plan our event. To sign up,
please fill out this quick form:

*We
are having a meeting this Saturday for those who want to help organize the
march. To participate in Saturday's meeting in person or virtually email

*Speakers: *We are seeking speakers covering the following categories:
Physics, Chemistry, Space science, Climate science, Medicine, Health
Sciences, Ecology, K-12 education/outreach, Politics, History, Citizen
science, Business, and Technology. It is likely that more people will be
interested in speaking at Denver March for Science than there is time for,
so we are asking everyone interested in speaking to fill out a short
application, which can be found here: http://marchforsciencede
nver.org/speaker-application/
<https://marchforsciencedenver.us15.list-manage.com/track/click?u=cbcd09fd9749f9755b8208ba0&id=0a69a8b101&e=6ed1dea763>.
Applications received by March 9, 2018 will receive full consideration. We
plan to have the speaking lineup finalized around March 19, 2018. Priority
will be given for speeches advocating for science itself and less on
speeches advocating for any particular political position.

For the History category, we are seeking speakers who could cover one of
the following topics: 1) how society has benefited from science, 2) how the
process of science benefits from the inclusion diverse backgrounds and
viewpoints, or 3) how science has historically been funded in the U.S. and
provide context for where we are today.

*Musical Performers*: We are seeking musical performers to provide
entertainment during Denver March for Science. A short application can be
found here: http://marchforsciencedenver.org/performer-application/

Please note that Denver March for Science is operated entirely by
volunteers, and musical performers are also engaged on a volunteer basis.
Please contact denmarchforscience at gmail.com if you have any questions.

Kind regards,
The Denver March for Science
