Dear NCAR Postdocs,

You may have seen the announcement for the L'oreal Fellowship.  Below are
some additional guidelines that apply to NCAR postdocs.  If you wish to
apply for this fellowship, please contact me if you are in ASP, or contact
your program administrator if you are in another program.

Good Morning,

You likely saw the announcement this morning in Staff Notes regarding the L'
Oreal Fellowship for postdocs.  I just wanted to follow up on a couple of
items regarding this announcement.

Please refer to the attached links regarding the announcement, application
process, etc. as well as the attached FAQ.

1.  Any postdocs interested in responding should refer to our PI
Eligibility guide.

The guide allows for postdocs to be a PI in situations where they are
applying for a postdoc fellowship.  The postdocs will need to complete a PI
Approval Form to be reviewed by B&P and approved by the NCAR Deputy
Director.

2.  If awarded, the postdoc would receive $60k over 1 year.  The funding is
awarded to the institution - not the postdoc.  The $60k should be used for
materials & supplies, publications, computer and technical support and
travel. It may be used for salary with adequate justification.  *Fringe
benefits and indirect costs are NOT allowed.*

3.  The NCAR Directorate will leverage the Directorate STORM funds for the
unallowable benefits and indirect costs.
