To: Rebecca <rhaacker at ucar.edu>

Dear Rebecca,

I was wondering if you can help me identify some students that may be
interested in participating in the AMS Summer Community Meeting. The AMS
came to me with this late request two days ago.

The AMS Summer Communit
<https://www.ametsoc.org/index.cfm/ams/meetings-events/ams-meetings/2018-summer-community-meeting/>y
meeting
is next week at UCAR (Center Green). The AMS is seeking students to attend
(for free) and support the meeting as note takers (rapporteurs) to capture
the main take-aways from each session. Several students are needed. The
meeting participants are leaders from all sectors of the weather enterprise
so its a great opportunity for students to network with NOAA, NWS, NCAR,
private sector, and university leaders.

The POC for student engagement at this AMS event is Tom Fahy (
tfahy at capitolgr.com), who is a Washington, D.C. lobbyist for the
geosciences. He has a passion for involving students in science policy
activities.

Regards,
Bill
