Title: Acceleration of the Water Cycle over the Colorado Headwaters

Abstract: Theory and results from climate models suggest that warming
due to greenhouse gases will lead to an acceleration of the water
cycle globally as a result of increased temperatures and moisture.
This study will examine the acceleration of the local water cycle
over the Colorado Headwaters region using an 8 year high resolution
simulation of WRF for a current and a future warmer, moister climate.
The analysis will focus on three main components of the water cycle:
precipitation, evapo-transpiration, and runoff. Implications of these
results for future research in the water cycle and climate change
will be discussed.
