The American Meteorological Society (AMS) is pleased to announce that
they are currently accepting applications for the 2008/2009 AMS
fellowship and scholarship programs and the 88th AMS Annual Meeting
travel opportunities.

The AMS encourages fellowship and scholarship applications form women,
minorities, and disabled students traditionally underrepresented in the
atmospheric and related oceanic and hydrologic sciences. The fellowship
and scholarship programs are supported by AMS members, corporations, and
government agencies nationwide. The information and applications are
available at the AMS web site.
The AMS also provides annual meeting travel opportunities for students.
The 88th AMS Annual Meeting will be held in New Orleans, Louisiana; 20
January - 24 January 2008. The 7th AMS Student Conference and
Networking Reception will also take place Saturday, 19 January and
Sunday, 20 January. The AMS strongly encourages student participation
at the annual meeting. Therefore, AMS has established programs that
help provide partial travel support to students wishing to attend the
meeting.

Please assist them in getting the word out to students concerning these
rewarding programs. For your convenience, I am providing you with the
following URL
http://www.ametsoc.org/amsstudentinfo/scholfeldocs/2008fellowshipandscholarshipprogram.pdf

They kindly ask that you help them to circulate information about these
programs and take the time to print and post and/or distribute the
flyers. They hope to reach as many qualifying students as possible with
your help.
