         The research Centre ESCER invites applications for a tier-two 
Canada Research Chair, for a tenure-stream position in the Department of 
Earth and Atmospheric Sciences of the University of Quebec at Montreal 
(UQAM). The theme of the Chair is Regional Climate Modelling, with a 
focus on subgrid-scale physical parameterizations and surface processes. 
The Chair holder is expected to contribute actively to the research 
programme of the Canadian Network for Regional Climate Modelling and 
Diagnostics (CRCMD).

            Nominees for Tier-two Chairs are intended to be emerging 
scholars with less than 10 years since the PhD and whose peers 
acknowledge as having the potential to be world leaders in their field. 
The Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) provides infrastructure 
support to the Chair Programme. Chair appointments are open to Canadian 
researchers, whether they are working in Canada or abroad, as well as to 
scientists from other countries. Applications from women and minority 
groups are encouraged.

         Candidates are invited to signal their interest by sending a 
letter with their CV and three letters of reference, electronically

Le Centre ESCER sollicite des candidatures pour un poste de Chaire de 
recherche du Canada (niveau 2), pour un poste académique au Département 
des sciences de la terre et de l'atmosphère à l'Université du Québec à 
Montréal (UQAM). La thématique de la Chaire est la modélisation 
régionale du climat, avec une emphase sur le paramétrage des effets 
physiques de sous maille et la représentation des processus de surface. 
Le titulaire de la Chaire sera invité à participer activement au 
programme de recherche du Réseau canadien de modélisation et diagnostics 
du climat régional (MDCR).

             Les chaires de niveau 2 visent d'exceptionnels nouveaux 
chercheurs détenant le doctorat depuis moins de 10 ans, reconnus par 
leurs pairs comme étant susceptibles de devenir des chefs de file dans 
leur domaine. La Fondation canadienne pour l'innovation (FCI) offre le 
soutien en infrastructure pour le programme des chaires. Les postes de 
chaires sont ouverts aux chercheurs canadiens, qu'ils oeuvrent 
présentement au Canada ou à l'extérieur, ainsi qu'aux scientifiques 
étrangers. Les candidatures féminines et des groupes sous-représentés 
sont encouragées.
