Mitigation, and Adaptation*

*On August 30, 2007 The University of Colorado Graduate School and
Energy Initiative will sponsor the 12th Annual Research Symposium.  This
year’s event is titled The Global Energy Crisis – Climate Change,
Mitigation, and Adaptation.  The symposium will focus on Sustainable and
Renewable Energy issues and related initiatives in Colorado.  The panel
will address critical energy issues that we will be facing in the coming
decades.

The event begins at 6:00 p.m. in the University Memorial Center, Room
235, on the CU-Boulder Campus.

The distinguished speakers are:

     * Susan Solomon, Professor of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences,
       University of Colorado at Boulder;
     * Dan Arvizu (invited), Director of the U.S. Department of Energy’s
       National Renewable Energy Laboratory;
     * Patricia Limerick, Faculty Director of the Center of the American
       West and Professor of History, University of Colorado at Boulder;
     * Heidi VanGenderen, Senior Advisor on Climate Change and Energy,
       Colorado Governors Office of Policy Initiatives; and
     * Susan Avery, former Vice Chancellor for Research and Dean of the
       Graduate School; Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
