Job Summary/Basic Function
The College of Arts, Education and Sciences at Clarion University invite applications of qualified candidates to fill an anticipated temporary full-time faculty position for the 2019 - 2020 academic year. Individuals hired may be offered an additional year 2020 - 2021 based on acceptable evaluation of performance and student enrollment demand.
The position requires teaching responsibilities that may include a General Botany course with lab, a General Ecology lecture course, a Quantitative Field Methods course, an Environmental Science course for non-majors, and contribution to the freshman level Biology labs. Preference given to applied plant ecologists with the ability to teach wetland ecology, wetland delineation, and/or the regulatory facets of environmental field biology. Candidates must hold a minimum of a master's degree in Ecology, Plant Biology, or a related field with a terminal degree preferred. Additionally, the candidate must demonstrate a strong commitment to education and teaching excellence, enjoy working closely with students, and have a familiarity with diverse field methods in Ecology.
Required Qualifications
Masters degree in Plant Biology, Ecology, or a related field and completion of a successful phone interview.
Preferred Qualifications
Teaching experience at college/university level, Ph.D. in Plant Biology, Ecology, or a related field is preferred, ABD considered.
