Geology Internship


Job Summary


Geology Internship- Roswell, GA with travel to Sylacauga, AL

Qualifications:

We are looking for Bachelor's/Master's students who: 

.        Are working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Geology or related
degree in the Geosciences

.        Are able to work independently and as part of a team

.        Has the ability to follow detailed instructions (written and oral)

.        Has a firm understanding of the google products (sheets, docs,
slides)

As a current college student studying Mining/Geology, your internship
project will be focused on a diamond drill core campaign where you will
learn to work closely with the senior division geologist, mine site
technical staff, and other core technicians to ensure a smooth workflow of
the diamond drill core campaign. 

As a Geology intern, your project might include: 

.        Sample preparation and processing, core logging, and rig
supervision. 

.        Moving, stacking and cutting core and transferring splits to
appropriate locations for storage or analysis

.        Transporting, washing, laying out, photographing, preparing core
for sampling and logging

.        Following detailed instructions of senior division geologist and
mine site technical staff

.        Assisting with the collection, handling, counting, and inventory of
rock samples, sample bags, core boxes, and other materials essential to the
core preparation process

.        Provide regular updating of the hole progress with senior division
geologist 

.        Ability to occasionally mark new drill locations if required

.        Learning from and  assist core logging geologist 

.        Keeping organized and detailed notes of sample inventory and other
record keeping tasked related to the core campaign

.        Ability to use Microsoft Excel to digitize drill logs, catalogue
core inventory, and maintain progress reporting

.        Ability to assist in field work such as surveying, mapping and
blast hole sampling.
