Program Overview
The WRI Energy Program is rapidly expanding its scope and body of work in clean energy across the U.S. Through the Special Clean Power Council and development of the Renewable Energy Buyers Alliance, WRI has traditionally worked with utilities to drive new clean energy solutions. Recently, the WRI has partnered with Rocky Mountain Institute to form the American Cities Climate Challenge Renewables Accelerator which supports cities across the U.S. in meeting their renewable energy purchasing goals. In addition to working with utilities, customers, and now cities across the U.S., WRI has also begun to address the ability of electricity markets to respond to the growth of renewable energy development. The U.S. Energy intern will support activities across these bodies of work, as well as help fuel WRI's expansion into topics critical to the transformation of the electricity industry.
