JOB SUMMARY:

The Environmental Studies program at Adelphi University invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor beginning August 2020. We seek applicants with a Ph.D. in Earth Science or a related field, with demonstrated teaching and research expertise in earth and environmental science, and ability to mentor undergraduate and graduate students. We especially welcome candidates with a history of scholarly publications and external funding emphasizing active research agenda focused on climate change, coastal geology, and/or GIS.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1.  Teach courses and supervise student research at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  2.  Potential courses include Climate Change, Environmental Geographic Systems, Introduction to the Oceans, Hydrology, or a new course in the candidate's area of expertise.
  3.  Collaborate with other faculty working on past and present causes of climate change or environmental degradation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1.  Applicants should have demonstrated research and teaching expertise in earth and environmental science.
  2.  A Ph.D. in Earth Science or relevant field is required at the time of appointment.
