Dewberry is currently seeking a Lead Hydrometeorologist to support and
coordinate a variety of projects in our Denver, CO office. Responsibilities
will include: operational forecasting of heavy rainfall and flooding,
development and operation of seasonal snowpack, precipitation and streamflow
forecasts, hydrologic modeling, data analysis, reconstruction of historical
precipitation events and climate change impact studies. The position will
also require a level of administrative work such as assigning tasks, helping
manage clients, preparing scopes, budgets and proposals and aiding in
business development.


Required Skills & Required Experience


Required Skills & Required Experience:

 

*	Bachelor's Degree in Atmospheric Science / Meteorology or closely
related field is required with 5+ years of relevant experience.

*	Master's Degree a plus.

*	Strong background in meteorological forecasting and forecast
validation.
*	Experience with analyzing large, multi-dimensional atmospheric
datasets. Formats include: NetCDF, GRIB1, GRIB2, GeoTIFF, ASCII.
*	Knowledge of computer programming in at least one of the following
software's: R, Python, ESRI ArcGIS, MATLAB, NCL.
*	Experience using the LINUX/UNIX operating system
*	Experience with ArcGIS and WordPress.
*	Knowledge of, or interest in hydrologic processes and modeling a
strong plus.
*	Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
*	Applying knowledge of business and the marketplace to advance the
goals of the business unit.
*	Ability to work in a team environment and build relationship
networks within the field.

Other Conditions:

*	Position could require some occasional work on weekends and/or
Federal holidays.
