*Summary:*

Sunset CES Incorporated (SCI) is currently seeking an Air Quality
Engineer/Instrument Engineer to join our team in Beaverton, OR. This
position is primarily responsible for assisting with development of our
newest sensor technology that we are offering.

SCI manufactures instruments for measuring environmental pollutants such as
hazardous metals, OC/EC in addition to conducting contract environmental
consulting. We are continuing to grow at an exponential rate as we seek new

*Key Responsibilities *

·       Installs, operates, maintains, calibrates, and repairs air quality
monitoring (low-cost sensors and FEM/FRM instrumentation) and
meteorological equipment for indoor or outdoor field work.

·       Evaluate instrument performance, troubleshoot problems including
malfunctioning equipment.

·        Replace or repair parts, components and assemblies.

·       Conduct quality assessment functions and performance evaluations on
instruments and ensure accurate calibration.

·       Review, summarize and record data collected electronically or
manually, and ensure accuracy, completeness and validity

·       Maintain detailed technical records, instrument manual, SOPs and
logbooks, and prepare periodic and special reports.

·       May respond to emergency service calls as assigned or as the
situation requires.

·       Make public presentations and drafts reports.

·       Participate in special studies coordinated with academic
institution/governmental agency.



*Required Qualifications and Skills*

·       Strong interest in working with sophisticated air quality and
meteorological instrumentation

·       Excellent communication, organization, time management,
problem-solving, and customer service skills

·       Skills using basic hand tools and electrical testing devices

*Desired Qualifications*

·       B.S./M.S./Ph.D. degree in an environmental, electric or mechanical
engineering, mathematics, physical sciences, physics, or chemistry

·       Experience with air quality and/or meteorology measurements

·       Proficiency in mechanical and electrical systems

·       Experience with environmental data acquisition systems

·       Experience with data communications equipment

·       Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and data analysis
software (R, Python) is highly preferred

·       Ability and willingness to travel occasionally

·       Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
