Researcher for Seismic Reflection Surveys

The Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at Cornell University
seeks a highly qualified and motivated  research scientist to image
subsurface stratigraphy and structure in the upper crust near the Cornell
campus using seismic reflection profiles collected with nodal
instrumentation and a vibroseis source. The position is for one year and is
renewable, contingent on funding and performance. The candidate will be
part of an inter-disciplinary research project (supervised by Prof. Larry
Brown) to evaluate the potential use of enhanced geothermal systems in the
northeastern United States. The candidate should have skills and experience
in quantitative data analysis including processing of on land seismic data.
A valid driver’s license and a willingness to participate in fieldwork are
required. Applicants should have at least a Bachelors degree in geophysics
(or related field), and those with M.S. and Ph.D. degrees are encouraged to
apply.  Salary and title will be commensurate with experience. Applications
will be reviewed beginning July 1, 2018 and the position will remain open
until filled. The desired start date is negotiable but a start date
before Sept.
