DEGREE AND AREA OF SPECIALIZATION:

MS degree in Geography, GIScience, or a related field is required.
MINIMUM NUMBER OF YEARS AND TYPE OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE:

Candidates should be trained in applied cartography and GIS. Teaching
experience in higher education, with professional students, and/or online
is preferred. Technical skills in (1) desktop GIS, (2) Adobe Illustrator
and/or Photoshop, (3) spatial databases, and (4) spatial analysis are
desired. Must have excellent online communication skills.

Candidates with the following teaching experience and/or proficiencies are
especially encouraged to apply:

- Online teaching and/or online course development;

- GIS industry work experience;

- Esri software, including ArcGIS and ArcGIS Pro;

- Adobe Creative Cloud software, Illustrator and Photoshop in particular;

- HTML/CSS;

- Databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server or Oracle);

POSITION SUMMARY:

Teach two online courses in the GIS Professional Programs each term (fall,
spring, and summer, six course sections total a year).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

GIS Professional Programs (GISPP) in the Department of Geography at
UW-Madison oversees all Professional GIS programs in the department,
including two online GIS Capstone Certificates, and an Online Master's in
GIS Development. Due to the success of our programs, we're growing both in
curriculum and in students.

GISPP offers you the chance to work in an innovative, dynamic, and fun

Relocation is not required for this job, as telecommuting is an option for
the right candidates.
