The Gulf Research Program<http://www.nas.edu/gulf/index.html/?utm_source=direct&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=2018_SPF_CLEAN> of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine is accepting applications for its Science Policy Fellowship.

What does a Science Policy Fellow do?
Our Science Policy Fellows gain first-hand experience as they spend one year alongside decision-makers at agencies across Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, and Florida. With the guidance of a mentor, fellows delve into activities like research, evaluation, restoration planning, stakeholder outreach, and policy development and learn what it takes to make scientific information not just useful but useable.

What are the benefits of the fellowship?
Fellows who have completed an MA, MS, or MPH/MSPH degree or who are currently enrolled in a doctoral program will receive an annual stipend of $45,000. Fellows who have completed a PhD, ScD, EngD, MD, DrPH, or DVM will receive an annual stipend of $55,000.

Fellows also receive up to $5,000 in additional support for professional development activities.

How can I apply?
Applications are due March 14, 2018. Learn more and apply at www.nas.edu/gulf/fellowships/science-policy<http://www.nas.edu/gulf/fellowships/science-policy/?utm_source=direct&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=2018_SPF_CLEAN>
