Hi,

I'd appreciate it if you could post the following postdoc position,

Thanks,

Jennifer Pett-Ridge

The Physical and Life Sciences Directorate at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to join our team studying hydrogen and oxygen stable isotopes in mineral hydration waters, with an emphasis on hydrated minerals in meteorites and what these isotopes can reveal about the origin of Earth's water. The researcher will develop methods to measure hydrated mineral stable isotopes using Thermogravimetry-enabled Isotope Ratio Infrared Spectroscopy (Oerter et al., 2017, Chemical Geology) and will apply those techniques to a suite of meteorite types from across the known spectrum. The appointment may also support LLNL's multidisciplinary teams studying water-mineral interactions from a stable isotope perspective. Additional analytical resources include a high-vacuum laser fluorination system and IRMS instrumentation with associated peripheral interface systems, as well as many other instruments across the Lab. This project will be conducted in collaboration with the Carnegie Institution for Science. Expected start date is October - December 2018. LLNL postdocs are fully supported for 2 years; a 3rd year is contingent upon initial progress. 25% of the postdoc's time is supported for professional development, training, and new project development. Livermore lab is a great place to work and do innovative research.
