> The Department of Geological Sciences seeks a scientist to lead a research and educational program that will contribute to one or more of prioritized departmental themes to which we plan to make additional hires in the coming years: Earth resources; geologic and environmental hazards; and planetary science, including surface and interior processes as well as processes and evolution of the early Earth. The appointment will be at the Assistant Professor level.

> The successful candidate will use theoretical, observational, and/or experimental approaches to study fundamental problems in geology relevant to the prioritized departmental themes.
