Post-Doctoral Researcher Position, UCLA Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences

The UCLA Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences (AOS) seeks a postdoctoral scholar, supervised by Prof. S.E. Paulson. The position is for one year, renewable, contingent on satisfactory progress and funding availability, and is available starting as soon as March 1, 2017.
The general research area is interactions between the built environment and variations of air pollutant concentrations at high spatial resolution (tens of meters). The primary focus of the project is the development of a modelling framework to predict the impacts of different built environment configurations on pedestrian and resident exposures at the scale of a few blocks. A PhD in Atmospheric Science, mechanical Engineering or related field is required, and a strong foundation in micrometeorology and numerical models is preferred. Willingness and ability to engage in field measurement campaigns (the topic of several related proposals) is also desirable.

Applicants should submit (1) a brief statement of research interests and goals, no longer than one page, and (2) a complete CV, including contact information for three references. These materials should be addressed to paulson at atmos.ucla.edu<mailto:paulson at atmos.ucla.edu>. Consideration of applications will begin immediately, and will continue until the position is filled.

UCLA is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
