Level Change. The Scientist will work with others in a team to assess the
role of tropical-Antarctic teleconnections on Antarctic climate
variability.

The incumbent will perform research on sea ice extent variability, land ice
dynamics, and other process studies. The work also involves:

- Conducting and analyzing experiments on the tropical-Antarctic
teleconnections including global scale simulations with a fully coupled
Earth system model, satellite observations, ground-based observations, etc..

- Developing diagnostics of the physical processes involved in the
interaction between the ocean, sea ice and the atmosphere, based on
observational and ensemble simulations datasets.

- Conduct scientific studies, publish results in peer-reviewed journals and
communicate about them in international conferences.

The successful candidate should have a PhD in large-scale climate, sea ice
or ocean modelling, with strong interests for polar sciences. Advanced
programming, post-processing and data analysis skills are required. He/she
should be fluent in English and should have demonstrated ability in team
