Oxford College of Emory University invites applications for an Assistant Professor, tenure track, Environmental Science
A Ph.D. in a field related to environmental science and experience in teaching undergraduates is required. Advanced training in geoscience with field experience is strongly recommended.
We are open to a wide range of disciplinary or interdisciplinary academic backgrounds relevant to field teaching in environmental sciences, geosciences, ecology, or related fields. Candidates with experience in inquiry-based teaching and student-centered learning are particularly encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will teach lecture and laboratory courses in introductory environmental science and geoscience for Environmental Science majors and non-majors, and have opportunities to develop an upper-level course and field courses.
A new, state-of-the-art science facility, which houses the college's geological collection and is designed to promote student-faculty collaboration, scholarship, and innovative teaching in STEM opened in January, 2016.
To apply: Applicants must submit with their applications a letter of application, CV, statement of teaching philosophy and transcripts (may be unofficial). Three letters of recommendation should be sent directly from recommenders to oxford-searches at listserv.cc.emory.edu with "Environmental Science" in the subject line.
