Visiting Assistant Professor of Oceanography
The Bowdoin College Department of Earth and Oceanographic Science invites applications for a one-year, full-time Visiting Assistant Professor position to begin July 1, 2016 in the area of oceanography.  The successful candidate will teach three oceanography courses per year at the sophomore to senior level, two with weekly field/laboratory sections.  Visiting faculty have the opportunity to mentor undergraduate students in honors and independent-study research.  Ph.D. required.
The Department of Earth and Oceanographic Science has a strong commitment to innovative teaching and research that engages undergraduates in earth-system science.  Taking advantage of Maine's unique tectonic history, landscapes, and over 3000 miles of coastline, the EOS Department is dedicated to inquiry-based learning in a natural setting.  The department has access to boats, a newly renovated marine laboratory, and oceanographic equipment for such purposes.
