Subject: Postdoctoral Position in Carbon Biogeochemistry

Applications are now being accepted for a postdoctoral position to
participate in multidisciplinary and highly collaborative projects in car=
bon
biogeochemistry in both lakes and rivers. The position will be based in t=
he
Department of Biology, Trent University, Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.
Potential projects include the determination of the current carbon and
material pathways in the foodwebs of Lake Erie, quantification of the=20
current and contemporary carbon emission and burial rates, browning of=20=

nearby rivers and lakes, effects of flooding on carbon dynamics in rivers=
=20
and longterm ecological dynamics of dissolved organic carbon in streams.
The candidate must have experience in and an excellent understanding of
aquatic ecology and biogeochemistry as demonstrated by a good publication=

record in international journals. Strong leadership skills are also requi=
red=20
as the postdoctoral fellow will be expected to provide some guidance and
assistance to junior members of the project as well as some aspects of=20=

project coordination with collaborators and supporting organizations. A P=
hD=20
in ecology, limnology, environmental chemistry and/or environmental scien=
ces
is required.

The position is available for a total of 2 years. The initial appointment=
=20
will be for 1 year with the possibility for renewal depending on=20
performance.

Preferred start date is before January 1st 2016 or soon thereafter.
