Subject: Postdoctoral Position in Carbon Biogeochemistry<br>

Applications are now being accepted for a postdoctoral position to<br>
participate in multidisciplinary and highly collaborative projects in car=<br>
bon<br>
biogeochemistry in both lakes and rivers. The position will be based in t=<br>
he<br>
Department of Biology, Trent University, Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.<br>
Potential projects include the determination of the current carbon and<br>
material pathways in the foodwebs of Lake Erie, quantification of the=20<br>
current and contemporary carbon emission and burial rates, browning of=20=<br>
<br>
nearby rivers and lakes, effects of flooding on carbon dynamics in rivers=<br>
=20<br>
and longterm ecological dynamics of dissolved organic carbon in streams.<br>
The candidate must have experience in and an excellent understanding of<br>
aquatic ecology and biogeochemistry as demonstrated by a good publication=<br>
<br>
record in international journals. Strong leadership skills are also requi=<br>
red=20<br>
as the postdoctoral fellow will be expected to provide some guidance and<br>
assistance to junior members of the project as well as some aspects of=20=<br>
<br>
project coordination with collaborators and supporting organizations. A P=<br>
hD=20<br>
in ecology, limnology, environmental chemistry and/or environmental scien=<br>
ces<br>
is required.<br>

The position is available for a total of 2 years. The initial appointment=<br>
=20<br>
will be for 1 year with the possibility for renewal depending on=20<br>
performance.<br>

Preferred start date is before <span tabindex="0" class=""><span class="">January 1st 2016</span></span> or soon thereafter.<br>
