Ume=C3=A5 University is dedicated to providing creative environments for
learning and work. We offer a wide variety of courses and programmes, world
leading research, and excellent innovation and collaboration opportunities.

on-going research at CIRC. We are particularly interested in candidates who
address climate impacts on ecological and biogeochemical patterns and
processes at whole-ecosystem scale, across terrestrial and aquatic
ecosystems, or at catchment or higher levels. We welcome research
approaches combining different types of field studies, e.g. using natural
gradients or experimental manipulations, with modeling and up-scaling

*Admission requirements *The successful candidate for the assistant
professorship should hold a doctoral degree (or equivalent), preferably
obtained less than seven years prior to the application deadline.
Candidates are expected to have an excellent knowledge in the field of
ecology, biogeochemistry, or related field, and preferably also

CIRC is part of the Department of Ecology and Environmental Science at Ume=
University and
undertakes research on how environmental changes affect high-latitude
ecosystems. Important parts of the research aim to integrate terrestrial
and aquatic processes, to understand ecological dynamics and biogeochemical
cycles at various spatial and temporal scales, and to assess the impact
thereon of changes in climate or other environmental factors. Most of the
research activities are based at the Abisko Scientific Research Station and
the surrounding mountain region, www.emg.umu.se/english/research/circ/.

Ume=C3=A5 University wants to offer an environment where open dialogue betw=
people with different backgrounds and perspectives lay the foundation for
learning, creativity and development. In each recruitment we aim to
increase diversity and the opportunity to affirmative action. We kindly
