Job Description
The Atmospheric Sciences and Global Change Division at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) seeks a postdoctoral scientist who is familiar with physical parameterizations used in climate models and has a strong background in atmospheric physics. The selected candidate will work with a team on a multi-year DOE SciDAC project to improve cumulus parameterizations suitable for resolutions typically used in meso- and large-scale models. He/she will be responsible for implementing and evaluating an improved cumulus parameterization at various scales and performing tests in both single column models and global climate models.

Minimum Requirements
Candidates must have received a PhD within the past five years from an accredited college or university.  All staff at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory must be able to demonstrate the legal right to work in the United States.

Qualifications
Candidates with experience in climate modeling and parameterization evaluation as well as familiarity with high performance computing are preferred. Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
