*Scientific Visualization Developer, Boise State University*

Boise State University, powered by creativity and innovation, stands
positioned in the Northwest as a metropolitan research university of
distinction. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply for the position
of Scientific Visualization Developer. This position will support the
development of research capacity in visualization and transdisciplinary
computational science and engineering. The primary responsibility of the
Scientific Visualization Developer is to support researchers (faculty,
post-docs, staff, students) in developing novel visualizations of research
and outreach outputs of human/environmental science interactions for the
recently funded 5-year NSF Managing Idaho's Landscapes for Ecosystem
Services (MILES) project. At the end of the grant period, this position will
more broadly serve the research community across the Boise State campus in
visualization and computations science and engineering.

You will have the opportunity to:

 * Create novel visualization solutions for multi-scale socio-biophysical
 * Develop visualizations to engage project stakeholders
 * Develop open-source software solutions for mobile, web, desktop, and
   supercomputing platforms
 * Deploy visualization solutions used by a range of skill levels to improve
   understanding of the human/environmental science interface
 * Create new Big Data analyses for social and biophysical networks
 * Work with researchers on best practices for communicating science with
   visualization, in collaboration with Boise State's Office of Information
   Technology and Idaho's Cyberinfrastructure Advisory Council for higher
 * Collaborate in preparation and writing of grant proposals to further
   enhance visualization capacity and advance visualization
