MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS



The University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez Campus, Department of Crops and
Agro-Environmental Sciences seeks applicants for an Assistant Professor
position in Tropical Forest Ecology and Natural Resources Management (NRM).



Requirements include an earned Ph.D. or Sc.D. in Ecology, Forestry, Natural
Resources & Environmental Sciences, or closely related disciplines.  Strong
ability to communicate and teach in Spanish and English. Proven ability to
secure external funding and strong publication record.  Solid
interdisciplinary collaboration skills are essential.  U.S. citizenship, or
permanent U.S. Resident status, required. Tenure track; nine-month/year
appointment; 75% Instruction and 25% Research.



DUTIES



Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in:
Tropical Forest Ecology, NRM, and Land-Resource Usage.  Advise
undergraduate and graduate students in research.  Establish externally
funded research program on tropical forest ecology and NRM, publish
research work in peer-reviewed conferences and journals, participate in
faculty committee, professional services, and educational assessment and
improvement activities.
