I have a new position open in my research lab at the University of Michigan. Please circulate to all interested parties and feel free to contact me with any questions.

Thank you,

Allison

Post-doctoral Research Position at the University of Michigan

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position to participate in a project on atmospheric chemistry in forested ecosystems. The position will be based at the University of Michigan in the Atmospheric, Oceanic and Space Sciences department with collaboration with Civil and Environmental Engineering at Washington State University. Data from past atmospheric chemistry field campaigns in forested environments (BEACHON, BEARPEX, CELTIC, UMBS, Harvard Forest) and the upcoming 2013 SOAS field campaign will be used to understand the role of BVOC in gas and particulate chemistry under a range of NOx conditions. The project will use a one-dimensional canopy-chemistry model to improve the understanding of the key physical and chemical processes that influence large-scale ozone and aerosol budgets and thus are needed for global and regional scale atmospheric chemistry models.

Expertise is required in one or more of the following areas: atmospheric chemistry, biogenic VOC emissions and fluxes, ecosystem science, or boundary layer meteorology. Applicants should have demonstrated quantitative skills and a successful publication record. Programming experience is desired (e.g., Matlab, Fortran), however, applicants with laboratory or field experimental experience in atmospheric chemistry and a clear desire to develop atmospheric modeling skills will be considered.

The initial appointment is for one year, with the possibility for extension to a second year. Please send a C.V., statement of research interests, and three references to Allison Steiner, alsteiner at umich.edu

Review of applications will begin in June 1, 2013 and will be accepted until the position is filled.
