*The University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus seeks candidates for the
following six tenure track positions: *College of Natural Sciences*,
*Department
of Biology*, *Assistant Professor.* Five Faculty Positions in: *Cell
Physiology-Biochemistry, Ecology, Microbial Metagenomics, Population
Genetics, and Systematics. *Requirements*: PhD or equivalent degree in
Biology and post-doctoral experience.  The successful candidate should
demonstrate a solid academic preparation and commitment to excellence in
teaching both at the undergraduate and graduate levels. We are interested
in candidates that conduct interdisciplinary research, particularly in the
following areas: Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Conservation Biology,
Ecological Modeling Evolution, Genomics, Immunobiology, Invertebrate
Biology, Marine Ecology, Metabolomics, Phylogeny, Proteomics, and
Transcriptomics. *Responsibilities*:  Teach undergraduate/graduate courses,
conduct research, publish in their areas of specialty, seek external
funding, and participate in activities and projects in the department, as
well as the College of Natural Sciences and the Río Piedras Campus. *One
Teaching Faculty position in: *Organismal or Integrative Biology.*Requirements
*:  PhD or equivalent degree in Biology and post-doctoral experience. The
successful candidate should demonstrate a solid academic preparation and
commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level. Preference
will be given to candidates capable of developing a teaching and research
program in Organismal or Integrative Biology. *Responsibilities*: Teach and
coordinate General Biology, coordinate the General Biology laboratories,
contribute to curriculum development, provide academic counseling for
undergraduate students, conduct research, publish in their area of
expertise and/or science education, seek external funding, and participate
in activities and projects in the department, as well as the College of
Natural Sciences and the Río Piedras Campus. *Evaluation will start on
September 15, 2013 and applications will be received until positions are
