 Dear colleagues!

The Institute for Chemistry and Biology of the Marine Environment (
http://www.icbm.de) invites applications for a

*Full Professor in “Organic Geochemistry”, Tenured. *

The ICBM is a major university institute and focused on cutting-edge,
interdisciplinary marine research. The ICBM is located at two major sites
in Northwest Germany, in Oldenburg and Wilhelmshaven, and hosts Germany’s
second largest research vessel, the newly-launched “Sonne”.

The candidate should have an outstanding scientific record in the area of
organic biogeochemistry and profound knowledge in organic analytical
chemistry. The candidate’s research should focus on organic matter
processing and transformation via microbiological and abiotic processes in
marine systems (sediments and water column). A state-of-the-art,
well-equipped analytical laboratory is available, and the focus of the
laboratory can be shaped depending on the research direction of the new
professor. Further resources include an appropriate start-up package,
personnel support (scientific, technical and student support) and ongoing
baseline funding.

A track record of successful acquisition of external funding is required,
as is prior teaching experience (in English or German). Teaching will be in
the area of “organic and analytical chemistry”, on both undergraduate and
graduate levels.

Details on the application procedure and further information can be found
at http://www.uni-oldenburg.de/stellen/?stelle=62612

The announcement has also been published in "Nature":
