The Missouri Geological Survey is in the process of recruiting applicants for anticipated Geologist positions. These positions are primarily applied geologist in the areas of geologic mapping, mineral and energy resources, geologic hazards, and stratigraphy. As any employer, the Survey is looking for talented individuals to fill these positions. If your institution has any graduates or soon to be graduating students who would like to take advantage of this opportunity we would appreciate you passing this information on to them.

As a state agency, we hire staff through a system called the Missouri Merit System. To be considered for an open position, it is required that all candidates fill out an "Ease" application and register for the job title of choice. This application can be found at www.ease.mo.gov<http://www.ease.mo.gov>.  We are most interested in applicants for our Geologist series (I, II, III, IV), however other positions for geoscientists do exist in the department.  The geologist register is typically only open annually for two weeks during the months of March, June, September, and December. However, in anticipation of upcoming positions a special register opening will begin in April and run through the months of May and June.

Filling out an application and getting on these registers will place qualified applicants on a contact list for open positions.  Anytime a Geologist position opens, the applicant will be contacted by mail regarding their interest in the specific position.
