As part of a recently commissioned macroeconomic analysis of the cost of
climate inaction, led by myself and by Trevor Houser of Rhodium Group, I am
looking for a graduate student or recent graduate in the area of climate
impact science (broadly construed) to support the study as a research
assistant or research analyst. The position would be based in the New
Jersey/New York area, as either a university-based graduate research
assistant, a university-based postdoctoral research analyst, or a Rhodium
Group research analyst. The primary tasks of the RA would involve
reviewing literature on climate impacts, scoping scenarios for quantitative
impact analysis, and analyzing Earth system model output. The RA would also
have the opportunity to gain familiarity with economic modeling of climate
change impacts. This will be a fast-paced RAship, as it is in support of a
project with a strict spring 2014 deadline. Accordingly, we can only
consider students who will have completed their classwork requirements.
Familiarity with the climate impacts literature and climate change
scenarios is essential, as are strong writing skills and the ability to
conduct quantitative analyses in MATLAB or a similar environment.

If you are interested or know of anybody appropriate, please ask them to
send their CV along to me at robert.kopp at rutgers.edu.
