##### New CO/WY President elected during Spring meeting 2010

My term as president of the ASA CO/WY chapter ends June 30, 2010. A special
thank you to everyone who has made this a successful and enjoyable term as
president. I would like to thank the current board members and support staff
(Matt Pocernich, Matt Strand, Nels Grevstad, and Jim zumBrunnen) who's
behind the scene work has helped to ensure successful fall and spring
meetings and helped to continue the various awards that are sponsored by the
CO/WY chapter. I would also like to thank everyone who presented at a
recent fall or spring meeting - I'm grateful for the continuous
participation from chapter members in making these meetings and activities a
success.

A new CO/WY president was elected during the Spring 2010 meeting. Matt
Ostberg (Matt.Ostberg at du.edu) will be the new CO/WY president starting July
1, 2010.

Matt is a third year PhD. student in the Quantitative Research Methods
program at the University of Denver. He has a bachelor's degree in
Mathematics from Metropolitan State College of Denver, and an MBA with an
emphasis in Finance from Regis University. Matt is currently a graduate
technology assistant working on Windows platforms for the college of
education. He has most recently worked as a Financial Reporting Manager for
Qwest, and previously worked for 8 years as a Staff Engineer for Sun
Microsystems in the High End Server and Cluster support group. Matt also has
experience as a business analyst, systems administrator and database
programmer working for Worldcom, Nextel, Sovereign Computer Systems,
Computer Sciences Corporation, and Merrill Lynch. His primary areas of
interest for future work are mathematics education and remediation at the
college level, and financial risk management through simulation modeling.
Please join me in welcoming Matt as the upcoming CO/WY president.
