The Space Physics and Aeronomy Section of AGU is seeking nominations for the 2014 Fred L. Scarf Award. This award is presented annually to a recent recipient of a Ph.D. (or equivalent degree) for outstanding dissertation research that contributes directly to solar-planetary science. Ph.D. recipients who have completed their degree requirements from 1 July 2012 to 31 December 2013 are eligible.

The major criterion for the award is the impact or potential impact of the research on the field of solar-planetary research. The awardee will receive $1,000, a complimentary ticket for the SPA dinner, a certificate, and will have the opportunity to deliver an invited paper on the dissertation topic at appropriate SPA session at the 2013 AGU Fall Meeting. The awardee will also be announced in Eos.
