[Wrf-users] Modifying LU_INDEX in the WRF model

Dear WRF users,

I have modified the default WRF LU_INDEX in the geogrid file
geo_em_d03.nc (after
running geogrid.exe) for the innermost domain (d03). I modified the
LU_INDEX, LANDUSEF and LANDMASK in the geogrid file. Then I run ungrid.exe,
metgrid.exe and real.exe. After running real.exe, again I modify the
LU_INDEX, IVGTYPE, LANDUSEF and LANDMASK in the wrfinput (wrfinput_d03)
file.

I used LANDUSEF as 1 for each grid cell for the respective LU_INDEX. *When
I look at the temperature change, the simulation using the updated LU_INDEX
is not showing any difference from the simulation using the default
LU_INDEX.*

Although I have a look for the variable VEGFRA in the wrfinput file, I am
not sure how much percentage of VEGFRA I should change in the wrfinput file.

Could you please suggest me what are the other variables I should change in
the geogrid and wrfinput files.

Do I really need to modify the variable VEGFRA. If so, how much percentage
of the VEGFRA I should change?

 Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,
Imran
